Skydive Empuriabrava is the largest and most experienced skydiving school in all of Europe, with high-level international instructors, the latest training techniques and state-of-the-art sports equipment.
Learning to skydive on your own requires some practical knowledge and skills that you will learn during your AFF course (Accelerated Freefall Course) through theoretical classes combined with aerial training. Theoretical classes include knowledge about skydiving equipment, freefall positions, how and at what altitude to open the parachute, emergency procedures and how to fly and land the parachute safely.
Our skydiving school is open all year round. You can book a course individually or in a group if you want to do the course with friends. Our instructors speak several languages.

Choose your skydiving course
At Skydive Empuriabrava you can choose between three courses to get started in skydiving:
AFF COURSE (Accelerated Free Fall Course): The standard and international skydiving course.
AFF PLUS COURSE: Includes flying lessons in the wind tunnel at Windoor Empuriabrava, located right next to Skydive Empuriabrava.
SKYDIVING FOR A DAY (Introductory course in freefall): Choose this course if you just want to know what it feels like to skydive by yourself, accompanied by our instructors and get a first introduction to our sport, even if you don’t want to continue jumping later.

AFF COURSE
Accelerated Progression Course in Free Fall
The course takes approximately 5-7 days, depending on weather conditions. You can complete the whole course in one go or over few weekends. The AFF PLUS course is internationally recognised. When you graduate you will therefore be able to jump not only at Skydive Empuriabrava, but also anywhere else in the world
The training at Skydive Empuriabrava is completely personalised to be able to provide you with the best service. As a start you will attend the theory classes and do practical exercises on the ground
After completing ground school, you fly up an altitude of 4,000 metres for your first AFF Tandem Skydive. During this jump you will practice first exercises in free fall and under open parachute, together with your instructor
The next step will be done in the Wind Tunnel (Indoor Skydiving - free fall simulator), where you get the chance to train the free fall exercises that you need during your AFF jumps in the sky later on
Now you are more than prepared. You are ready to start your 7 levels of AFF in the sky. On level 1 you will jump with your own student rental parachute, safely secured by two instructors, who will assist you in free fall. They stabilize you and correct your body position while you practice your exercises during free fall. Once your parachute is open, an instructor will help and guide you to safely land your student parachute as you have learned already during ground school
Throughout the 7 AFF levels, we will record the exercises you do in freefall on video. While viewing the video during your personal de-briefing after every jump, your instructors can analyse and review your progress extremely thoroughly, thus sharpening your learning curve significantly. You will receive the videos by email, which is a fantastic reminder of this great experience

REQUIREMENTS, DATES AND TIMES
It is mandatory to carry a medical certificate specifying that you are fit to practice sports.
The minimum age is 16 years, and up to 18 years of age, a notarized parental authorization is required.
Courses start at 9 am all year round.

AFTER THE PAC COURSE
Once you have completed the PAC course, your instructor will explain the steps you need to follow… and you will be able to jump on your own!
It will also be time to start deciding which discipline you would like to practice. From then on, each jump you make will help you accumulate experience, but the steps we will recommend are those aimed at obtaining the Title A of the Royal Spanish Aeronautical Federation, which will allow you to jump with other parachutists.
